During the Liberhan debate in the Rajya Sabha, BJP’s Vinay Katiyar and Balbir Bunj repeatedly tried to intervene while Home Minister P Chidambaram was replying to the debate. Even the Leader of the Opposition, Arun Jaitley, stood up a few times to ask questions or to counter Chidambaram’s argument.
Chidambaram sat down each time Jaitley rose to speak, but refused to do the same for Katiyar and Punj. I will, he told them, “Allow him (Jaitley) to speak but I will never yield before you people.”
