The company would float NIT (Notice Inviting Tender) for procurement of 7,260 MW supercritical thermal power units," a company official said.

The eleven units comprise two 660 MW units of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and nine NTPC.

NTPC and DVC have already received the techno-economic clearance to buy Rs 21,000 crore power equipment for their upcoming thermal power generation plants from Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

The equipment would be procured through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) route. The bidders should have a manufacturing base in India.

NTPC also plans to commission 750 MW power capacity during the 100-day programme.

"We will commission 500 MW unit at Kahalgaon (Bihar) and start commercial operation of the 250 MW thermal power project at Bhilai in Chhatissgarh," a company official said.
