Stocks of the companies engaged in the tiles, ceramics and sanitaryware business had a steady run in the last three months from April to June on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
This is despite a considerable erosion on profits of these companies due to high freight and raw material costs.
Share price of Murudeshawar Ceramics rose from Rs 44.20 on April 1, to today’s close of Rs 58.95, up 33.37 per cent on the BSE.
During the same period the stock price of Kajaria Ceramics increased from Rs 149.19 to Rs 169.20, up 13.41 per cent and Orient Ceramics increased from Rs 52.70 to Rs 70.45.
Spartek Ceramics gained from Rs 7.50 to Rs 10.08, up 34.4 per cent.
Share price of Hindustan Sanitaryware surged from Rs 120.50 to Rs 156.80, Anant Raj Industries rose from Rs 17.39 to Rs 45.80 and Regency Ceramics rose from Rs 28.20 to Rs 28.75 and Restile Ceramics fell from Rs 10.00 to Rs 9.41. Bell Ceramics rose from Rs 20.20 to Rs 25.70 and SPL rose from Rs 44.50 to Rs 55.15.
