Openbravo, the Spanish web-based open source ERP solutions provider, is targetting the huge small and medium enterprise (SME) sector in India to increase business, a company official said.

Vice-president of channel sales of Openbravo Andreu Bartoli said that India was an important market for the company for penetrating the SME sector.

Bartoli said that business from India was almost between 30% and 50% of the total generated from the Asia-Pacific nations.

Headquartered in Spain, Openbravo had been funded by few venture capitalists.

He said that because of the huge cost involved in proprietary ERP solutions, many companies were shifting to open source solutions.

The company would shortly open a development centre and India office in the city.

In India the ERP market size was of $1.5 billion.
