Page Industries Announces Q2 Results
Company registers impressive growth of 35% over previous year

Page Industries Ltd. Bangalore, the exclusive licensees of Jockey International Inc. (USA); today announced that they have achieved a turnover of Rs.875.20 million for the quarter ended 30th Sept 2009, registering a growth of 35% for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The profits after taxes have registered an increase by 26% to Rs.105.56 million.

Half yearly sales increased 28% to Rs.1669.4 million, and profit after taxes for this period have grown 21% to Rs.206.95 million.

The year 2009 has seen Page Industries announce a new communication plan for Jockey with a new Jockey logo and a new brand campaign entitled 'Just Jockeying'.

They also recently unveiled Jockey’s new global retail format for their Jockey Exclusive Stores, with a view of creating a homogeneous shopping experience across the globe and at the same time enhancing the Indian consumer’s shopping experience.

Having successfully soft launched the new retail design concept in a few stores, Page Industries will launch at least 50 new format exclusive stores taking the total number of stores to 100 before the end of the next financial year. Currently there are 10 stores in the pipeline, with the average store size being 500sq.ft, and extending up to 1200sq.ft.

The new retail format and the recently launched 'Just Jockeying' ad campaign, are all part of Jockey India’s transition from a predominantly inner wear brand to a lifestyle brand. It is also part of Jockey’s initiative to create a better connect with customers, and take the brand to the next level of sophistication.

In fact, Jockey International Inc. (USA) has also extended their exclusive licensee agreement with Page Industries for another twenty years, through the year 2030. The agreement includes new territories to be covered by Page Industries with a focus on the Middle East.
