Pegasystems opens support centre in Hyd
BS Reporter / Chennai/ Hyderabad Nov 18, 2009, 00:22 IST

Pegasystems Inc, a US-based provider of business process management (BPM) software, has opened its global customer support centre in Hyderabad, with an initial staff of 10 support personnel. The company’s research and development centre in the city currently employs over 100 professional.

“Our support centres at Massachusetts and Reading in UK have been servicing the global support requirements, including the 10 per cent requirements originating from customer and partner staff located within India. Now, the India centre will complement these existing centres to support service coverage throughout all business hours across the world through the ‘follow-the-sun’ model,” Mike Pyle, senior vice-president (engineering), Pegasystems, told mediapersons here on Tuesday.

The company will be making investments in excess of $1.5 million (around Rs 6.9 crore) in the Hyderabad support centre in the next one year or so, and tripling its headcount in three to five years, he added.

According to Suman Reddy Eadunuri, managing director of Pegasystems Worldwide India Private Limited, this expansion of the company’s India operations is expected to drive a further economic lift of around $100 million (Rs 460 crore) to the India economy over the next five years as it facilitates expanded investments by its partners and customers in their India operations.

“At present, North America and Europe together contribute 90 per cent to our revenues. We are now planning to enter the Asia market and will soon come out with our go-to-market plans,” Eadunuri said, adding that Pegasystems was well on target to achieve its projected revenues of $250 million (Rs 1.150 crore) this year, with its nine-month revenues being $191.1 million (Rs 879 crore). The company’s guidance for 2010 is in excess of $300 million (Rs 1,380 crore).
