| Pilots of erstwhile Indian Airlines warn of action over dues |

A section of the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) today threatened to resort to strike if their demands were not met by the NACIL management by November 1.
"We have written to the management asking it to pay our dues (of two months) by November 1 failing which we are ready to resort to any action," Otal said.
Asked what the action could be, Otal said "it could be anything."
ICPA is the non-executive pilots body of erstwhile Indian Airlines. NACIL is the holding company of Air India and Indian Airlines formed after the merger of the two government- owned carriers in 2007.
The pilots body also rejected any pay-cut proposal by the management.
"Our patience has run out and we are ready for any action," ICPA General Secretary Captain R S Otal told reporters after an ICPA meeting here.
There are many other ways to turnaround the financially struggling company besides wage cuts and the management should explore them, Otal said.
The company has not paid the non-executive pilots of erstwhile Indian Airlines their allowances for August and September which constitute about 80 per cent of their salaries, he said.
