Cheaper finance and reservation in industrial plots for micro, small and medium enterprises are some of the proposals that will be considered by a panel headed by the Prime Minister's top aide, on November 19.
"Sub-groups on credit flows have recommended that there should be an interest subsidy scheme for the micro, small and medium enterprises," MSME Secretary Dinesh Rai said at a CII function here today.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had constituted a high ranking task force headed by his Principal Secretary T K A Nair in August this year to address the problems faced by the country's tiny, small and medium scale units which employ about 42 million people.
The task force, which also comprises Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla and Labour Secretary P C Chaturvedi, had formed several expert sub-groups to look into the specific problems faced by the sector that contributes about 45 per cent to the country's industrial production.
The small and micro units were among the worst affected by the global slowdown and consequent decline in exports.
The sub-group on the infrastructure has recommended reservation of industrial plots for these firms.
