After Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK snapped ties with it, PMK, a constituent of the UPA, warmed up to the Congress on Friday, strongly backing the Indo-US nuclear deal and vowing to contest the next Lok Sabha polls under a Sonia Gandhi-led alliance. A resolution adopted by the general council of the party extended unconditional support for the nuclear deal and said the UPA government had embarked on an effort to evolve a consensus on the issue with the Left parties.
