Power Grid Corporation of India today reported a rise of 16.71 per cent in its net profit of Rs 1,690.61 crore for the year-ended March 31, 2009, over the same period last year.

The company had a net profit of Rs 1,448.47 crore in the same period ended March 2008, Power Grid Corporation of India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The board has proposed a dividend of Rs 0.70 a piece.

Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India today settled at Rs 122.50, up 0.29 per cent on the BSE.
