Gayathri G / Chennai/ Coimbatore February 24, 2006
Pricol Technologies Limited (PTL), the technology and product design service arm of the auto component firm Pricol, is expanding its area of interest to the industry automation and embedded electronics.

Embedded electronics refers to the devices that can be embedded in or on any product or component that allows communication.

At present, PTL provides its IT services and consultancy to the companies in automotive, engineering design and manufacturing sectors.

“Now, we have shifted our focus to industry automation and embedded electronics sectors, as we foresee a vast potential and great business opportunity in these sectors," according to A S Ramaseshan, president and chief operating officer, PTL.

As such, the company has engineered four new products in these sectors-positioners, temperature / humidity control devices, actuators and voice sensors.

Speaking to Business Standard, Ramaseshan said, “All the four products are still in their functional prototype stage. The first two would hit the market during the last quarter of this calendar year. The remaining two products are expected to be launched by the middle of 2007.”

The company concentrates on enterprise management and performance management where it had developed an in house tool called ‘Balanced Scorecard’ that tracks down the performance of various departments of a company and help them in their improvisation.

PTL has two offices abroad-one at Detroit, US, its fully owned subsidiary. It has a sales office to market their products at Stuttgart, Germany.

The company also plans for acquisitions of US based companies that focus on strategic management and consultancy and expects to complete the process in 18 months.
