Punjab realtors, multiplexes rejoice in festive season
Vikas Sharma / New Delhi/ Chandigarh Sep 25, 2009, 00:26 IST

With the air of festivity everywhere, retailers, multiplexes and realtors in the region are riding high on positive sentiments as they are expecting sales to soar during the festival season.

To ensure they are not left far behind, multiplexes in the region are working on various novel ideas to attract footfalls.

Fun Republic (Chandigarh) General Manager (Marketing) Rupesh Garg said: “In addition to down-the-line promotional activities by retailers inside malls, we are planning to organise jewellery exhibition in October. The exhibition that would be held in association with regional jewellery companies is expected to increase the footfalls.”

He added they were expecting that the promotional activities inside the mall could help increase the footfall by 20 per cent.

Similarly, Manish Moza, GM (marketing), Uppal Group, said Centra Mall in Chandigarh had promotional activities lined up for the festive season.

“We would be holding Diwali carnival from October 8-15, inside the mall,” he said.

“Though it is difficult to comment on how much increase in footfalls the promotional activities would lead to, the activities are engagement activities for our regular customers,” Manish added.

Even the realtors in the region who had been facing tough times since last year when the global economy was in turmoil, are looking at the festival season as a ray of hope.

Though the real estate market has been showing signs of improvement in the region of late, realtors said the festival season could prove to be aperture of better future for them.

Similarly, the real estate developers in the region said they were expecting positive sentiments to return back in the market.
