B Prasada Rao today took over the charge of Chairman & Managing Director of the state-run power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) .     

B Prasada Rao, 55, has assumed charge as CMD, BHEL said in a statement today.

Rao, who joined BHEL in 1978, has worked in various roles in the public sector navratna engineering enterprise.
