Essar Shipping Ports & Logistics today said Ravi Ruia, who is also the Vice-Chairman of Essar Group, has resigned from the company's board with immediate effect due to other commitments.

"The company has received a letter dated March 31, from Ravi Ruia tendering his resignation from the board of directors of the company with immediate effect due to other commitments," Essar Shipping Ports & Logistics said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
