As per the scheme, a first in the UAE, Al-Futtaim Automotive would give its customers 15 per cent payout of the invoice value of the vehicle in the event of job loss.

"While our sales have grown during the first quarter of this year, our research has shown that there are a still a significant number of customers who want to take advantage of our current strong offers but are holding off purchasing due to concerns about their job security." Len Hunt, the group director at Al-Futtaim Automotive, said.

The customers will be free to use this payout as they wish. For example, if the vehicle is purchased on finance, the payout can be used to make their monthly payments until they find new employment.

The deal will be valid on purchase of all their volume brands. Al-Futtaim represents Toyota, Honda, Volvo, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge as well as Automall, its pre-owned car division.
