Does defence minister AK Antony not trust a government think tank, funded by his own ministry, and of which he himself is the chairman? Analysts at India’s premier defence policy think tank, Institute of Defence Studies & Analyses, are puzzled that Antony declined to release a publication of the institute on Indo-US relations that was put together to mark the prime minister’s visit to Washington DC and was scheduled to be released at the institute’s annual day where Antony was the chief guest. Reason? The defence minister said he had not read the book and wouldn’t want to release it till he had checked out the contents. Little wonder India’s arms purchases are all getting delayed!
