The highway stretch is expected to be operational by March 2011. Rel Infra is currently executing seven road projects and has fixed a total outlay of over Rs 4,500 crore, the statement added.

The company, that builds infrastructure projects and sells electricity, plans to increase its road project portfolio to over Rs 20,000 crore within the next three years.

"The project would be completed within the stipulated time frame. With seven road projects, Rel Infra would be committing more than Rs 4,500 crore for the road sector only, with plans to increase the total road project portfolio over Rs 20,000 crore by 2012-13," Rel Infra CEO and Whole-time Director Lalit Jalan added.

The company now has a cumulative order for more than 515 km of road project, of which two are commercially operational.

Shares of Rel Infra closed at Rs 1,303, up 0.38 per cent on the BSE.
