Buoyed by its performance in the recent assembly by-elections when it checked a clean sweep by the ruling BSP on the four seats, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has decided to go all out to expand its base in the state.
"It is time for us to span out to parts other than the western region which has remained a stronghold of the RLD since long," party sources here said.
"These elections have also proved that there is a vacuum with both the Samajwadi Party and the BJP failing to make a mark even on the seats held by them and RLD is ready to fill up this vacuum as the party believes that it can bring the farmers and labourers sidelined by other parties in its fold," the sources said.
As a first move, two training and "chintan" camps will be held in September-October on further developing the party in other parts of the state, they said.
Ajit Singh's RLD managed to retain the Morena assembly seat in last week's by-election posting a victory against a candidate of ruling BSP.
