| RMI mulls tie up with other colleges for design programmes |

Having launched its seventh centre of the country in Ahmedabad, Raffles Millennium International (RMI), Asia- Pacific's premium design institute, is now planning to tie up with other educational institutions including engineering colleges for part time programmes on design.
"There is a need for design education in several verticals including industrial design and auto design in India. We plan to tie-up with educational institutions like engineering colleges for offering part time courses in design," said Harpreet Singh, executive director, Educomp Raffles Higher Education Ltd.
A joint venture between Raffles Education Corporation and Educomp Solutions Ltd, India's one of the largest education company, RMI will offer training courses in fashion design, product design, graphic design, interior design, multimedia design, and fashion marketing through a bachelor degree from the Raffles College of Design and Commerce (RCDC) at seven centres in India.
While, admissions for the academic session commencing in July have already begun, students will be eligible for credit transfers from RMI in their final year to any of our colleges in India or abroad.
Talking about the new venture, Shantanu Prakash, chairman and managing director, Educomp Solutions Ltd. said, "We are delighted to launch RMI campus in Ahmedabad. Like its other centers in Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad, RMI Ahmedabad campus will provide the students with the best faculty from India and overseas. The newly launched campus aims to fulfill the objective of providing quality education and industry training to the students thereby providing them chase the pursuit of excellence."
Candidates, having passed Std. XII, will be required to appear Raffles Millennium Aptitude Test (RMAT) followed by an interview.
RMI's Ahmedabad campus will carry a capacity of 250 seats while the undergraduate degree will be offered at a fee of Rs 15 lakhs for three years.
Speaking on the launch, Mike Yam, executive director, Educomp Raffles said, "At RMI, our objective is to stimulate the creativity and imagination of the students and create a pool of talents to lead organizations to next level of growth. The centres will provide a range of international and domestic faculty in a ratio of 60:40. Students will also get an opportunity to relocate themselves to any of the overseas Raffles campuses after two years to pursue their higher studies."
RMI is offering design course across the country in 7 cities namely Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad Chandigarh, Kolkata and now Ahmedabad.
