| The state government will complete the disbursement of relief worth Rs 500 crore to farmers affected by the floods by year-end. The government will disburse Rs 400 crore for crop failure and Rs 100 crore for land repair.

| According to the state agriculture commissioner, S K Goel, the state government is planning to help the farmers make the land cultivable under the employment guarantee scheme.

| This will take around three months.The government will also provide technical assistance for this programme.

| There has been extensive damage to agricultural land in the state with the top soil being washed away in nearly 25,000 hectare. The affected districts include Raigad, Parbani, Hingoli, Solapur, Sangli and Satara.

| In some areas huge craters are visible due to washing away of soil. Other areas are not cultivable due to debris deposition after the floods.
