Several units of State-run Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) have received ISO accreditation for quality and environmental management.

The steel township has been able to meet the quality management systems under ISO 9001-2000 QMS and the environment management system under the ISO 14001-2004 EMS, RSP sources said here today.

It was significant that 10 different units of RSP functioning in the township have been included in this double certification.

In addition to this, Spiral Weld Pipe plant, ERW Pipe plant and Special Plate Mill have also received ISO-14001 EMS certification, while Hot Strip Mill, Plate Mill and Sinter Plate II which had earlier received the certification, have been re-certified with ISO 14001-2004 EMS.
