Corporate Affairs Minister PC Gupta was stunned when asked, at a recent press conference, whether his party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, had received any funding from Satyam or Maytas Infra and Maytas Properties. He tapped his finger to the side of his head, indicating the journalist was off his rocker. Later, when another journalist offended him by saying he thought there was a coordination problem between those investigating the Satyam case, Gupta said the journalist’s thinking that way didn’t really mean anything — if he thought the journalist should jump out of the window, would the journalist jump out of the window from the fourth floor?
