Satyam completes employee appraisal
K Rajani Kanth / Hyderabad Sep 02, 2009, 01:12 IST

The employee performance appraisal process at Satyam Computer Services (re-branded as Mahindra Satyam) is complete and the results will be out in a couple of weeks, according to a top official of the IT outsourcing company.

“The entire exercise (appraisals) involved 35,000 associates, as they are called at Satyam, including 7,000 from the virtual pool programme (VPP) and 3,000 subsidiary staff. Sales incentives and other benefits have also been enhanced. The company is now looking at various options on how to improve monetary gains to the employees shortly,” he told Business Standard, while declining to give more details.

Reiterating that the VPP was only a one-time initiative covering 7,500 associates and there were no plans to repeat it, the official said the company had already called back 1,200 and would recall 1,500 more in the next one to one-and-a-half months as the company had been bagging new logos.

Its wrong news, no one from the virtual pool has had appraisal recently. Infact the appraisal happened before the bench program happened and that appraisal was not considered, even when some of them did well.....this is just hiding some negative facts...as journalists, you should check. Also some of the VPP employees have actually moved out. In no way, CP has done martyrdom by telling no repeats. He has used the 8000 people as scapegoats

I stand by my story. A Mahindra Satyam spokesperson has confirmed to me on phone that the entire appraisal process was completed before the VPP was initiated. Doling out of ESOPs and pay hikes recently stand testimony to this. The spokesperson also says some employees were called back from the VPP on the basis of the appraisals.
