'School of Liberal Studies' launched

The Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC)-promoted Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) has launched its ‘School of Liberal Studies’ in Gandhinagar. The new institute will offer a four-year undergraduate programme, bachelors in liberal studies (BLS), with a first year student intake of 60 for the academic term 2009-2013.

While the students will be getting exposure to 30 subjects ranging from arts and science to management and performing arts in the first two years of the programme, the course will focus on major and minor subjects of the students’ choice in the later part. The majors offered initially in BLS will be in English literature, business administration, governance and public administration, environmental studies and economics.
