Sensex ends down 150pts

The Sensex ended (provisional) with a loss of 150 points at 17,842. The NSE Nifty has shed 53 points at 5356.

The Sensex is quoting at 17866, lower by 125 points and the Nifty is at 5367, down 41 points.

SensexThe Nifty is moving in a range of 5375-5410, down 17 points at 5,391, the Sensex is down 46 points at 17,469

Midcap and smallcap indexes continue to outperform the benchmark Sensex, trading higher by 0.5%

Midcap stocks Central Bank and Omaxe are trading up over 7%. Other midcap companies like Opto circuits, Oriental Bank, Hindustan Construction, Emami and IRB Infrastructure are trading up over 5% each.

Smallcap Inox Leisure pares gains after hitting upper circuit this morning on buzz that Reliance Mediaworks might buy stake in the company, stock is up 12% at Rs 81. However Reliance Mediaworks denied any such developments.

Realty index is putting pressure on the markets, dips 1% at 3389 dragged down by Pheonix Mills down 2.3% at Rs 219, heavyweight DLF is down 1.8% at Rs 304 and Unitech also is also falls 1.45% at Rs 82

ABB is a top Nifty loser today, the stock falls by 4.3% after net profit dipped 54% to Rs 38 cr

Selling pressure continues in Hero Honda which is down 3.3% at Rs 1812, Siemens is also down 3% at Rs 698 on account of disappointing results
