| Sensex ends up 183pts; Satyam surges 8% |

The Sensex opened 92 points higher at 9,625. Intra-day profit taking in late morning deals saw the index pare gains and drop to a low of 9,495.
However, fresh buying in realty, auto and capital goods stocks helped the index to recover and touch a day's high at 9,785.
The Sensex finally ended with a gain of 183 points at 9,716.
The market breadth was positive - out of 2,539 stocks traded, 1,644 advanced, 810 declined and 85 were unchanged today.
The NSE Nifty ended with a gain of 57 points at 2,979.
INDEX MOVERS...
Satyam zoomed 8.3% to Rs 161. Reliance Communication soared 7.2% to Rs 228.
Jaiprakash Associates surged 6% to Rs 84. Mahindra & Mahindra gained 5.7% to Rs 270.
Tata Motors was up 4.9% to Rs 156, while Sterlite gained 4.8% to Rs 265.
Ranbaxy and Reliance Infrastructure moved up 4.1% each to Rs 242 and Rs 585, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro advanced 3.9% to Rs 770. Maruti surged 3.7% to Rs 518. Wipro
gained 3.6% to Rs 235.
DLF and ICICI Bank moved up around 3.1% each at Rs 285 and Rs 458.
Hindalco and NTPC were up 2.5% each to Rs 51 and Rs 182, respectively.
ACC advanced 2.4% to Rs 477. HDFC, BHEL and ONGC added 2% each to Rs 1,529, Rs 1,374 and Rs 671, respectively.
...AND THE SHAKER
Grasim was the sole loser among the Sensex stocks, down 1.2% to Rs 1,234.
VALUE & VOLUME TOPPERS
Reliance topped the value chart with a turnover of Rs 371.76 crore followed by Bajaj Hindusthan (Rs 278.33 crore), Satyam (Rs 269.60 crore), Reliance Communication (Rs 150.74 crore) and Reliance Capital (Rs 142.39 crore).
Bajaj Hindusthan led the volume chart with trades of around 4.32 crore shares followed by Unitech (2.71 crore), Reliance Natural Resources (2.33 crore), Suzlon (1.91 crore) and Satyam (1.72 crore).
