 The Sensex has pared some its gains and is now at 17,169, up 131 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 5,094, up 40 points.

The Sensex soared to a high of 17,252 and is now at 17,242, up 216 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 5,120, up 65 points.
The metal index surged 4% to 15,363.
Mahindra & Mahindra has zoomed 5% to Rs 959. Sterlite and Tata Motors have advanced around 4% each to Rs 841 and Rs 570, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco and Tata Steel have added over 3% each to Rs 248, Rs 133 and Rs 562, respectively.
Tata Power, HDFC, DLF, BHEL, Reliance Infrastructures, TCS and SBI are up 2-3% each.
Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel are down over 3% each at Rs 239 and Rs 340, respectively.
The market breadth is extremely positive, out of 2,613 shares traded, 1,713 have advanced and 812 have declined so far on the BSE
