| Sensex flat in early trades |

Markets are trading soft this morning on subdued cues from the global markets.
The Sensex is now flat at 17,103 after opening at 17,087.
The Nifty is down seven points at 5,019.
The consumer durables index is up 1% at 4,178. However, the FMCG and metal indices are in red.
The US markets ended flat. The Dow closed at 10567, higher by two points, Nasdaq ended at 2358, up 18 points.
The Asian markets have opened on a flat note today morning. The Hang Seng is down 33 points at 21,175. The Nikkei has advanced 94 points or 1% to 10,658.
Hindustan Unilever has slipped 2% at Rs 234. ITC is down marginally at Rs 253.
Metal stocks are weak. Tata Steel and Sterlite have dropped around 1% each to Rs 606 and Rs 798, respectively.
IT stocks have gained. Wipro has added 1.2% to Rs 706. TCS and NTPC has advanced 0.7% each to Rs 787 and Rs 1,016, respectively.
The BSE market breadth is positiev in opening trades. Out of 1,469 stocks traded, 964 have advanced while 456 have declined.
