Sensex off day's low
MORNING SESSION

SensexThe Sensex after touching a low of 15,762 in opening trades is attempting a pull back, and is now down 63 points at 15,833. At one point of time the index had touched a high of 15,888.

Hindalco has tumbled nearly 7% to Rs 114. Reliance Communications has plunged nearly 6% to Rs 166.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 4% at Rs 271. DLF has slipped over 3% to Rs 359.

Reliance Infrastructure and Wipro have declined 2.5% each to Rs 1,031 and Rs 592, respectively.

Infosys is down 2% at Rs 2,162. Tata Steel, Reliance and TCS are the other major losers.

Grasim has moved up 2% to Rs 2,222.

Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra are up around 1% each.

VALUE & VOLUME TOPPERS

Suzlon topped the value chart with a turnover of Rs 34.28 crore followed by ICICI Bank (Rs 31 crore), Jindal Steel (Rs 28.76 crore), Reliance (Rs 25.62 crore) and Reliance Communications (Rs 22 crore).

Sanghi Industries leads the volume chart with trades of around 11.12 million shares followed by Suzlon (6.04 million), Indiabulls Power (2.78 million), Unitech (1.99 million) and Ispat Industries (1.73 million).

The Sensex opened 57 points lower at 15,839 following last week's sharp fall. The index has touched a low of 15,761, and a high of 15,862 in early trades so far.

The Sensex is now down 52 points at 15,844.

The NSE Nifty is down 25 points at 4,687.

Hindalo and Reliance Communications (RCom) have plunged around 7% each to Rs 113 and Rs 164, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and DLF have dropped over 3% each to Rs 283 and Rs 358, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has slipped nearly 3% to Rs 275. Reliance has declined 2% to Rs 1,894.

ICICI Bank has shed 1.7% at Rs 776. SBI, Tata Power and Wipro are the other prominent losers.

Tata Motors however has gained 2% at Rs 576. Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti have advanced around 1.5% each.

Grasim and Sun Pharma are also up over 1% each.

The index is now down 109 points at 15787.
