| Sensex recovers partially, down 206pts |

The Sensex has recovered partially and iw now down 206 points at 14,829. Earlier in the day, the index had tumbled to a low of 14,684, after touching a high of 15,097 - a swing of 413 points.
The BSE Oil & Gas index has dropped 2% to 9,317. The Metal index has shed 1.7% at 12,011, and the IT index has slipped 1.4% to 3,817.
ACC has plunged over 4% to Rs 764. Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastructure have slumped 3.5% each to Rs 436 and Rs 1,097, respectively.
Grasim has dropped over 3% to Rs 2,490. Reliance, SBI, Reliance Communications and Hindalco have declined around 2.5% each to Rs 1,897, Rs 1,690, Rs 245 and Rs 104, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, Hero Honda, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sterlite and Wipro are down around 2% each.
HDFC has advanced 1.4% at Rs 2,354. Maruti has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 1% at Rs 1,317.
The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,620 stocks traded so far, 1,489 have declined, 1,054 have advanced.
