| Sensex surges 150pts in early trades |

The Sensex opened up 24 points at 15,691. The index, thereafter, surged to a high of 15,836.
The Sensex is now near its high at 15,820 - up 153 points.
The Nifty is up 40 points at 4,702.
Auto stocks, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 2% each to Rs 1,468 and Rs 878, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, DLF, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 1.5% each.
Reliance, Larsen & Toubro, Hero Honda, ITC, ICICI Bank, SBI, Wipro and Tata Power have advanced around 1% each.
However, Sterlite has slipped 2% to Rs 662.
