The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 109 points at 14,854 on the back of positive cues from the global markets. The index touched a high of Rs 15,008, and is now up 258 points at 15,003
TCS zoomed over 10% to Rs 478 following a 19% jump in Q1 numbers. Wipro which is scheduled to announce its results on Wednesday has spurted 6% to Rs 455.
Reliance has surged 3.5% to Rs 2,000. Sterlite and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 603 and Rs 798, respectively.
Hindalco, DLF, Infosys, Jaiprakash Associates and Sun Pharma were up around 2% each.
