Shree Cement notches two esteemed awards at the 4th CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony

Bags the "CIO Ingenious 100" & "Special Innovation Award"

Shree Cement Limited, the largest cement manufacturer of North India and among top five cement manufacturers in the country, bagged the “Special Innovation Award” & the “CIO Ingenious 100” at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony held in Goa from 4-5 September 2009.

Mr. Rajat Sharma, CIO, Shree Cement Ltd. clinched the “CIO Ingenious 100” as well as “Special Innovation Awards” for his case study on "Transport Freight Bidding integrated with RFiD Access System”. Instituted by “The IDG Group”, the largest Global IT Publishing House, this edition of the “CIO 100” honored the Ingenious IT Heads, the CIOs who adapted their plans despite tough conditions, by digging deep into their bag of tricks and working the passion of their teams. The award was presented by the Guest of Honour Sh Kiran Karnik, Technical & IT advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Trustee NASSCOM, ex-Chairman ISRO.

On his noteable achievement, Mr. Rajat Sharma, CIO, Shree Cement Ltd said, “I am deeply honoured on receiving this award. I would sincerely like to extend my thanks to my team, who has worked very hard and without whom delivering such results would have been impossible. It has always been our endeavour to strive to keep Shree Cement at the top in all spheres.”

It is worth a creditable mention that Shree Cement is the only Cement company to feature in the “CIO 100” honour which is an industry distinction & achievement for the IT as well as user departments. Additionally, Shree Cement is also the only corporate to have won all the Three 2009 National IT awards “Network Computing EDGE 2009”, “Polycom IntelligentEnterprise 2009” as well as “CIO 100 + Special Innovation 2009”.
