Shriram EPC has formed a joint venture with the Hamon Group of Belgium for wet cooling and air pollution control activities in India. The venture will be called Hamon Shriram Cottrell, Shriram EPC said.
Hamon Shriram Cottrell will also cover air pollution control systems, through a licence agreement for using Hamon Research Cottrell technologies.
The company will be active in wet cooling and air pollution control in the fast growing Indian market.
The accessible market for wet cooling and air pollution control systems in India is estimated to be in the region of Rs 1,400-Rs 2,000 crore per annum.
Both partners in the JV have been collaborating in the wet cooling market since 2005. Together, they booked new orders amounting to around Rs 50 crore in 2006 for wet cooling alone.
