| Silver futures up on global cues |

Silver prices gained Rs 57, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 30,487 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions in tandem with a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September rose Rs 57, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 30,487 per kg, with an open interest of 17,332 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December gained Rs 47, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 30,482 per kg, with an open interest of 16,362 lots.
Market experts said fresh positions created by speculators on pick up in demand in view of festive season and firming trend in Asian region mainly led to a rise in silver prices at futures market.
Meanwhile, silver traded higher by 0.05 per cent to $19.12 an ounce in Asian region.
