A certified employee under the Modular Employable Skills (MES) will help reduce production loss nearly 30 per cent as it would build up his skills, said S J Amalan, regional director and director, Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Orissa, Government of India, in Mysore.
Interacting with local industrialists here during the weekend, he said the Centre, through the apprenticeeship training will fund short-term training programmes and help build job satisfaction and job security for the trainees.
MES, he said, plans to play a significant role for both industries and employees. At present 340 skills are shortlisted under the training scheme covering over 80 per cent of industry skills.
A certified employee will contribute to the industry by reducing productions losses nearly 30 per cent as he will be confident of delivering the goods.
The MES certificate will elevate the self esteem of a worker to a higher level and will turn him into an asset for the industry.
Amalan explained the Government of India schemes and programmes aimed at building skills and train unemployed youth to make him more employable and empower him to enhance his job performance.
He promised Centre’s assistance and funding for the training programme to enable the unemployed youth and unskilled workers. He advised the Mysore Industries Association (MIA), which organised the interaction, to take a lead and impart various skills to the unemployed youth.
MIA will conduct training programmes for a first batch of workers from 100.
