In view of the adverse market scenario and demand recession, Century Textiles & Industries Ltd has decided to cut back on operations and is in the process of stopping the production of Tyre Yarn at the Century Rayon factory in Kalyan.
Once the production of Tyre Yarn is stopped, the production of Viscose Yarn is likely to fall by about 25% of total installed capacity.
The company said it will closely monitor the situation to resume operations at the appropriate time. Meanwhile, the factory will undertake the preventative maintenance of the Tyrecord Plant and related equipment.
The company maintained that operations of Rayon Yarn and Chemicals shall remain unaffected.
