Amid tight security arrangements, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today arrived here on a day-long visit.

Gandhi was received at the airport by state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Saif-uddin-Soz.

In view of her visit to Jammu city, multi-tier security has been thrown in and around GDCT complex which will be inaugurated by her, police officials said.
   
Special Protection Group is guarding the venue along with CRPF and police.
    
The venue has been sealed for civilian movement and traffic would be off on the road networks, including byepass during her visit.
   
Gandhi will inaugurate a newly built Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT) complex and is also expected to meet Congress leaders and get a briefing from them on the organisational matters in the state.
