Budget air carrier SpiceJet today increased fuel surcharge by Rs 400 with immediate effect, a day after private domestic airlines Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines announced their decision.
"We have increased fuel surcharge by Rs 400 on our flights," announced SpiceJet Chief Operating Officer Samyukta Shreedharan.
The increase in fuel surcharge by the airlines comes on the back of an over 12 per cent increase in the aviation turbine fuel prices by oil marketing companies on June 15.
Jet Airways and Kingfisher hiked fuel surcharge by Rs 400 from Tuesday.
