Sprinklr takes off with investment of global e-mail marketing veteran
Announcement / Corporate Sep 01, 2009, 16:49 IST

Sprinklr India, a fast growing Indian digital marketing services company committed to bring worldclass e-mail marketing offering to India, today announced that Ragy Thomas, a global email marketing veteran has taken an equity position and joined the board of directors as the chairman. Ragy is the former president of Epsilon Interactive, one of the largest email marketing services providers in the world. Ragy has been at the forefront of the evolving email marketing industry in the US since 2000 and was the CTO of market leader Bigfoot Interactive when it was sold to Epsilon in 2005 for over $120 million. He is now focused on the social media marketing opportunity in the US with his latest start up while leveraging his global digital marketing experience with strategic investments in emerging markets.

On his investment, Ragy Thomas, said,” The Indian Email marketing scene reminds of the digital marketing opportunity in the US in 1999-2000. As global economic pressures and intensifying competition in the Indian market, forces domestic marketers to seek measurable ROI, there is no doubt that digital direct marketing and specifically email marketing will play an increasing role in the marketing plan. Email has proven to have the maximum Return on Investment of any marketing channel globally. Couple that with the growing internet user base in India that is projected to be third largest in the world by 2013, you have a no-brainer opportunity to get in on the ground floor. I have been tremendously impressed with the depth of experience and passion of the team at Sprinklr India and look forward to building a market leader here within the next 2-3 years.

According to Saurav Patnaik, Vice-president – Marketing & Business Development, Sprinklr India,” Vanguard marketers within the retail, travel and financial sectors in India have already started embracing email marketing in a hurry. Up until now, marketers had to choose between expensive international players who lacked local support and local players who lacked world class email marketing expertise and technology. Sprinklr India provides a third exciting option, of having world class email assembly, delivery and reporting technology and services at Indian price points with local support. Our focus will be to continue to evangelize email marketing in India and to help leading brands leverage the power of the medium.

In his comments, Manjunatha K G, Managing Director, Sprinklr India, said, “We are incredibly pleased with the enthusiasm we see in the Indian market. Just in the last few months we have signed over 30 large accounts and our delivery volumes have been increasing 200-300% month over month.. Aside from the robust deliverability and reporting features our clients are also assured by the platform’s SAS70 compliant security infrastructure and redundancy. Typically a new client sees about 20-40% increase in deliverability and 200- 1000% increase in throughput when they migrate to the Sprinklr India platform from an in-house infrastructure or a local competitor. Ragy coming on board as an investor foretells exciting times ahead for not just Sprinklr India but for the entire email marketing space in India.
