The government today freed the entire steel sector from import curbs by lifting restrictions on bringing iron and steel products used in ships and boats also from outside.

Import of certain articles of iron and steel used in steering or rudder equipment for ships and boats has been freed, said a notification from the Foreign Trade Office.
