Sun Learning Services, a division of Sun Microsystems India announced the launch of its Learning Centre in Chennai.
The cente will focus on empowering the workforce on prevalent technologies and the needs of the future and Chennai centre will be the second such learning centre in India after Bangalore centre, which was opened in March this year, according to a company statement.
The learning centre will offer training in Java and XML technologies, identity management, solaris OS coursers, Sun Java composite application suite (Java CAPS), servers and high availability, storage and sun hardware systems. Sun Learning Services provides role-specific learning paths and certification programmes for each curriculum.
Bhaskar Pramanik, president - India, Sun Microsystems said the objective behind setting up these centres is to provide IT professionals in the country more opportunities and access to cutting edge technologies.
Chennai is home to a large talent pool and this drove our decision to set up a Sun learning centre here, he added.
