| Surya launches T-5 tubelights, on expansion mode |

Surya Roshni Limited, a lights to steel solution provider, has announced launch of eco friendly T-5 tubelights, which it claims saves 85 per cent energy, and its plans to expand its footprint in India.
Chairman and Managing Director J P Agrawal claimed that Surya has become the first company in India to launch the T5 light with a life span of 15000 hours (based on 3.3 hours usage per day with an electronic ballast),ensuring rs 600 saving annually.
The lamp uses the Triband Phosphor Fluorescent powder from Japan which gives highest lumen output. It works at a voltage as low as 140 V and can withstand upto 280 V,he said.
About the company's expansion plan, he said it plans to invest Rs 550 crore for expansion in Gujarat, Gwalior, NCR-Delhi, and Uttarakhand.The expansion plans include setting up of a High Mast Lighting and Poles factory at Gwalior as well as state-of-the-art Lighting Laboratory at Noida.
"We are also looking at setting up a facility in Karnataka for steel pipes and lighting products", he told reporters.
Currently Surya has a turnover of Rs 50 crore in Karnataka for steel pipes. It is also a major supplier of lighting products, Agarwal said.
