Surya Educational and Charitable Trust, floated by the Surya group having interests in pharma, health, retail chain and infrastructure, will spend Rs 40 crore for setting up three institutes — nursing, dental and hotel management— by 2010.
Society president Rajiv Goyal, who is also the chairman and managing director of Surya group, said, “We have earmarked Rs 100 crore for setting up institutes of academic excellence by 2010.”
The trust has invested Rs 60 crore for setting up five institutes. The trust has also planned shopping arcade and a hotel at its existing premises on the Rajpura-Ambala highway (NH1).
The five institutes offer undergraduate courses in engineering and technology, pharmacy, architecture and postgraduate courses in management studies and computer sciences.
