Public sector lender Syndicate Bank today said its net profit declined by 42.27 per cent to Rs 205.72 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, over the same period last fiscal.

Total income declined to Rs 2,676.94 crore for the latest quarter against Rs 2,758.52 crore for the same period previous fiscal, Syndicate Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The bank earned an interest of Rs 2,455.54 crore for the third quarter ended December 31,  against Rs 2,532.60 crore for the same period a year ago.
