Tamil Nadu govt reshuffles top bureaucracy

The government of Tamil Nadu has effected a major reshuffle of its bureaucracy by transferring top IAS officials from their current posts.

As part of the reshuffle, Santhosh Babu, managing director of Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) and director and CEO (in-charge) of e-Governance, has been posted as secretary, Information Technology department, replacing PWC Davidar. Davidar would be principal secretary and managing director of Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation Ltd.

Atul Anand, commissioner of agriculture has been appointed as the managing director of ELCOT and director and CEO (in-charge) of e-Governance.

N Sundaradevan, principal secretary and commissioner of revenue administration, would take charge as principal secretary, Industries department, replacing Rajeev Ranjan. Ranjan is transferred as principle secretary and commissioner of sugar and chairman and managing director, Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation Ltd.

K Gnanadesikan, former principal secretary, Home, Prohibition and Excise department, has been appointed as principal secretary and commissioner of revenue administration. M Sai Kumar, who was the principal secretary and commissioner of sugar and chairman and managing director, Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation Ltd has been transferred as secretary, Public Works department replacing K Dhanavel.

Swaran Singh, principal secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection department, has been appointed as chairman and managing director of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, replacing Chandra Prakash Singh.

Susan Mathew, additional chief secretary and vice chairperson of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, would be appointed as chairperson and managing director of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (TIDCO), replacing Sunil Paliwal.

V K Subburaj, principal secretary, Health and Family Welfare department, has been appointed vice chairman of Science City.

N S Palaniappan, principal secretary, chairman and managing director, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (TANSIDCO), has been transferred and posted as principal secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department, replacing K Allaudin. Allaudin has been appointed as managing director, Tamil Nadu Small Industires Corporation Ltd, replacing C Umashankar.

V K Jeyakodi, principal secretary, Revenue department, has been appointed as principal secretary, Tourism and Culture department, replacing S S Jawahar. R Rajagopal, principal secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi department, has been appointed as principal secreatry, Revenue department.

Md Nasimuddin, secretary, Commercial Taxes and Registration department has been posted as secretary, Transport department replacing Rameshram Mishra. Mishra has been transferred to the post of principal secretary, Labour and Employment department, replacing T Prabhakara Rao.

T K Ramachandran, managing director, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd, has been transferred and posted as secretary, Highways and Minor Ports department, replacing G Santhanam.
