Tarang Software to expand India operations

To set up its Second Development Center in Bangalore; hires 100 employees in October ‘09.

Bangalore based Tarang Software Technologies (Tarang), a leading provider of e-payment solutions, e-learning and BPO services today announced its expansion plans in India consequent to its new customer acquisitions across all its business segments. The new additions have occurred through existing client expansion as well as new client addition. Significant among its customer wins were Teligence Communications, Hypercom, Volvo, ING Vysya, Frese International, Global Refund and Decisive Analytics among several others.

The company has added 100 additional employees in October ’09 alone. This includes 15 Spanish nationals who are coming in from Peru and Bolivia to work at Tarang’s Spanish Call Center. With this, the total tally of Tarang employees goes up to 380.

The Board of Directors of Tarang has approved the setting up of its Second Development Center at Bangalore, having a capacity of 250 employees, to support its aggressive growth plans. This new center would have Centers Of Excellence for Smart Cards, Contactless Payments and a Soft Skills eLearning Library. Additional seats for Call Center clients are also planned in this facility.

Tarang’s first development center, which was set up in 2001, is also located in Bangalore.

Announcing the expansion, V. Rama Kumar, Chairman and CEO, Tarang said, “It is pleasing to see Tarang’s robust performance in the last quarter. Our domain specialization and strategic thrust into new markets helped acquisition of customers in Canada, Europe and India. We have delighted our customers ensuring repeat business which is even more heartening.”

“Mobile Wallet, the mobile version of its celebrated account aggregation solution ‘Account Wallet’, was launched for the Indian market. Tarang had also recently launched Way Finder, an Online Market Research product for the FMCG segment. The excellent response generated by these products in their respective markets should help Tarang add more clients in the second half of this year.” added Rama Kumar.

Tarang’s customers are in North America, UK, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, India and Italy. Its client base consists of Fortune 500 companies as well as mid-size and start up companies.
