Tata Coffee Q4 net down 52% to Rs 1.9 cr

Tata group firm Tata Coffee today announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 1.88 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, down 52.52 per cent from the corresponding period a year ago.

The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 3.96 crore in the same period previous year, Tata Coffee said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The consolidated total income of the company jumped up to Rs 317.09 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 254.01 crore in the same period last year.

For the year ended March 31, 2009, consolidated net profit of the company dropped to Rs 21.10 crore from Rs 23.88 crore in the last fiscal.

Consolidated total income of the firm increased to Rs 973.40 crore in the year under review from Rs 778.63 crore in the previous year.

The company incurred a loss of Rs 5.08 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2009 while it earned a standalone net profit of Rs 17.30 crore in the same quarter last year.

Standalone total income declined to Rs 64.26 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 93.01 crore in the same period previous year.
