The stock pared gains towards the close and finally ended with a marginal gain of 2.4% at Rs 106. The counter witnessed hectic activity with around 1.41 million shares changing hands as against its two-week daily traded volume of around 0.87 million shares on the BSE.

Tata Elxsi has surged on the back of 31.5% rise in net profit.
The stock opened at Rs 108, and touched a low of Rs 104. The stock zoomed to a high of Rs 113 in noon trades, and is now up 7.5% at Rs 112. The counter has clocked a volume of around 955,000 shares so far on the BSE.
According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, rose to Rs 23.13 crore as against Rs 17.59 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Total income, however, slipped 6.4% to Rs 106.37 crore from Rs 112.78 crore for the above mentioned period.
