| Titan Industries net up 90%

| Titan Industries has reported a 90 per cent increase in its net profit to touch Rs 5.72 crore for Q3 FY05 against Rs 2.98 crore in the same period last year. Sales turnover at Rs 305.84 crore was marginally ahead of Rs 301.74 crore last year.

| The first nine months of the financial year saw about 12 per cent growth in the sales of the time products division to Rs. 390.77 crore and by almost 30 per cent in jewellery sales to Rs 413.76 crore.

| After making necessary provisions for the European operations, profit after taxes was Rs 10.27 crore against Rs 1.69 crore last year in the same nine-month period. The results for the period have been achieved after factoring in additional outlays on brand-building amounting to Rs 15 crores more than last year.

| Tricom India net profit rises 17.34%

| The Mumbai based Tricom India Ltd, a business process outsourcing (BPO) company focusing on transaction processing activities, has posted a 16.38 per cent increase in its income from Rs 3.21 crore during the third quarter ended 31st December, 2004 compared with Rs 2.76 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

| The net profit has increased to Rs 1.14 cr compared with Rs 0.97 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, an increase of 17.34 per cent.

| The cumulative net sales and net profit for the nine months ended, December 31, 2004, of the current year amounted to Rs 9.46 crore and Rs 2.93 crore respectively compared with Rs 7.04 crore and Rs 2.20 crore respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year, a growth of 34 per cent in sales and 33 per cent in profit.

| Upper Ganges net up 90%

| Upper Ganges Sugar & Industries for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 recorded a gross profit for the quarter before depreciation, tax and exceptional items at Rs 18.01 crore against Rs 9.81 crore, an increase of about 85 per cent.

| Turnover was higher at Rs. 72.59 crore against Rs. 71.17 crore. Profit before tax more than doubled to Rs 16.11 crore compared with Rs. 7.64 crore during the same period. Net profit after depreciation and tax stood at Rs 8.98 crore for the quarter compared with Rs 4.79 crore, an increase of 90 per cent. |
